Omaggio all’Ingegner Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni
”Dalle prestigiose collezioni di auto d’epoca ai Laghi Lombardi”

19-21 Ottobre 2018

Appointment for the members of the Superlight Touring Register in Settala, near Milan, where the Alfa Blue Team, founded in 1972, one of the most important Italian collections of Alfa Romeo d'Epoca since the post-war period, is based.

Since the arrival of the cars, between 12:00 and 13:00 on Friday 19 October, the members have realized that the adjective "International" is not pretentious, because cars have arrived from Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Holland! A member from Chile was also registered, but family problems held him back. Gippo Salvetti, with his sons Stefano and Alessandro, welcomed the participants and offered a rich buffet.

After the visit, the cars covered the few kilometers necessary to reach Rodano (MI) where the Lopresto Collection is located. Unfortunately Corrado was in Lucerne for the preparation of an important exhibition, but to welcome the members there was Fabio, his friend / mechanic / co-worker who did the honors, not only, but with his "touch expert" did, then, restart a Flaminia GT that struggled to restart, perhaps a bit 'tried by the long journey from Denmark!

Departure for Erba and the Castle of Casiglio, home of the homonymous, beautiful resort.

On Saturday morning 20, departure at 8.30 to reach Eupilio, the small town of Alta Brianza, nestled between the lakes of Segrino and Pusiano, where Eng. Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni, with his family, had moved from 1954, and where he lived until his death in August 2003.

On the square of the Municipality of Eupilio we had the surprise of finding Corrado Lopresto waiting for us, who, after driving all night after his event in Lucerne (CH), had not wanted to fail to pay homage to Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni.

To honor his memory, the City of Eupilio, in collaboration with our Registry, decided to start, after two years of preparation, two important events of history and culture which were also invited to several vintage car clubs in Lombardy. A beautiful poster posted on all corners of the streets and in public places had announced the event. Between 9.00 and 9.30 a.m., many cars built up to the end of the 70's were crowned by the cars of the Register Members, for a total of more than 120 vintage cars. A total of more than 60 Touring cars were counted, including the only (perhaps) Hilmann Superminx in Italy and two Sunbeam Venice cars, one of which came from Belgium!

Members, friends of the other clubs, acquaintances and fellow countrymen filled the Council Room: 260 people were estimated, including, in addition to the Mayor Alessandro Spinelli, Deputy Mayor Manuela Zanconi and other councillors, were present the Deputy Chief of Como Dr. Eliseo Nicoli and the Commander of the local Police of Erba, Dr. Giovanni Marco Giglio.

Shortly after 9.30 a.m., Giovanni Bianchi Anderloni, eldest son of Carlo Felice, projected a sequence of photographs taken from the family archive and gave a lecture on the History of Carrozzeria, founded by his grandfather, Avv. Felice, with his friend Gaetano Ponzoni, also a lawyer, in 1926. Particular emphasis was given to the work of Eng. Carlo Felice who was able to continue on the path opened by his father, who died in June 1948.

Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni's first great work was the Ferrari 166 Sport MM "Barchetta" which gave rise to the birth of the Ferrari myth in the world. This was followed by other masterpieces of the Italian automobile recognised everywhere, until the closure of the company on 31 December 1966. The Conference ended, therefore, with a last part dedicated to the activity carried out by Carlo Felice in the field of historical motoring, of which he was a well-known and loved exponent all over the world for his refinement and competence. Before moving on to the next ceremony, brothers Giovanni and Alberto, sons of Carlo Felice, offered the Mayor two important books: "Il Signor Touring" by Giacomo Tavoletti and the "Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera" by Giovanni Bianchi Anderloni.

After the conference the event continued with the ceremony of the naming of the great coachbuilder of a village square: a large mulberry tree surrounded by a flowerbed, dominates from the center of the square and on this flowerbed the Touring Register has placed a bronze plaque in memory. The Mayor Spinelli, surrounded by the defendant authorities, cut the three-coloured ribbon, held up by the brothers Giovanni and Alberto, and the flags covering both the bronze plaque and the new signage plaque with the name of the Engineer were removed. Finally, the parish priest of the church of San Giorgio blessed the plaque and those present at the ceremony.

Then everyone had lunch at the nearby Fattoria Sant'Anna, with typical products of the Brianza cuisine.

Before returning to the hotel, stop at the park of the Du Chène Estate with a guided tour by the famous Rally driver Massimo Sordi of the ancient medieval tower so called of Queen Teodolinda. Return to the Tree and Annual Meeting of the Members of the Register.
Sunday 20th spent in absolute relaxation, after a short journey that took the members to Bellagio, the pearl of Lake Como and then to Barni, beyond the Ghisallo pass and on the slopes of Vallassina. Farewell lunch and goodbye to the next gathering!
